John A. Kramer was executed at the Nevada State Prison on August 27, 1942 for the crime of murder.

He was convicted of killing Frances Jones on February 15, 1940 in Ely in White Pine County which is located in eastern Nevada.

Kramer at the time was 61 years old and a native of Pennsylvania, his listed occupation was miner.

Kramer had known Frances Jones for about 15 years, he claimed he had given her many clothes and presents over the years. He said they had many dates, but she always spurned his marriage proposals. She married two other men, but continued to see Kramer.

On February 15 they quarreled, Kramer said he was drunk and in a mad impulse shot Jones.

For his last meal Kramer had fruit salad, relish, chicken soup, fried chicken with cream gravy, buttered peas, corn, shoe string potatoes, doughnuts, bread with butter, and coffee.
